Sue Monk Kidd at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts
Books and Company and Boswell Book Company present the return of Sue Monk Kidd, author of The Secret Life of Bees and The Invention of Wings, for a special afternoon ticketed event at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield for THE BOOK OF LONGINGS.
In her mesmerizing fourth work of fiction, Sue Monk Kidd takes an audacious approach to history and brings her acclaimed narrative gifts to imagine a story set in the first century about a woman who finds her voice and her destiny in a time of great despair and great hope.
As Good Housekeeping wrote, "The latest from Sue Monk Kidd introduces us to Ana, a courageous, intelligent woman who marries Jesus long before his public ministry begins...This is a humanizing look at Jesus the man, as well as an inspiring story of a strong woman living in a society bent on her silence."
Tickets for this event are $32 and include admission and a copy of The Book of Longings.
Your copy of The Book of Longings will come signed by the author. Sue Monk Kidd will sign backlist and additional copies of The Book of Longings after the talk. For this event, Sue Monk Kidd will not be personalizing and will not pose for photos.
Alas, no cancellations or refunds after May 1. Thank you to the Elmbrook School District and Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts for the event space.
